In 2015, I participated in The Box, a half-year exhibition organised by Level 3 Fine Art and Illustration students at Coventry University.
The exhibition brought together a diverse range of practices, from painting and drawing to installation and mixed-media works, transforming the exhibition space into a temporary environment for experimentation, dialogue, and public engagement. It provided an opportunity to present work beyond the studio and consider how artworks function within a shared curatorial setting.

Alongside exhibiting three paintings — Forevermore, Perceive, and Avulsion — I was also involved in the organisation and installation of the exhibition. My responsibilities included assisting with artwork allocation, labelling, exhibition preparation, and supporting the installation process.

Experiencing the exhibition from both the perspective of an exhibiting artist and a member of the installation team offered valuable insight into the practical realities of exhibition-making. It was an early introduction to the collaborative work required behind the scenes and highlighted the importance of planning, presentation, and spatial relationships between artworks.
Looking back, The Box was an important stage in understanding not only how to create artwork, but also how exhibitions themselves are constructed.
